Imagined Abstracts from Memories
A multimedia artist deeply connected to nature, Malu Tan is known for her gestural, richly textured, and vividly colored work, which has been widely exhibited and collected internationally. She lives and works in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her work seeks self-understanding through the exploration of place. She uses abstracts, narrative paintings, and constructed installations to convey the emotional gravity of environments and transform everyday chaos into moments of calm. By confronting nostalgia and transitory longing for home, she creates imagined, abstract spaces where memory and imagination collide, finding joy as much in the act of creation as in perception.
