Lynne Miller

Capturing Nature in Encaustics

Lynne Miller was raised in Charlotte, NC, graduated from NCSU, and spent two decades in Colorado working across many artistic fields—from trail signage and state forest murals to museum, aquarium, and Disney theme art—before returning to Charlotte in 2006 to raise her three children. Drawn to the natural unpredictability of encaustic painting, she uses molten wax and layered colors to evoke flowers and trees, inviting viewers to slow down and find a moment of reflection and peace. Working with up to 30 layers and embracing the medium’s lack of control, she finds both creative connection and personal balance in the fluid movement and evolving surface of her work.
