Imaginative Abstracts
Judy May’s work is a combination of nostalgia, joy, imagination, and all that lives inside her head. Her professional years were spent as a women’s designer clothing buyer, and her mixed-media, non-representational paintings are the result of those many clothing seasons emerging as lines, shapes, and forms. She loves color, and her choices are influenced by the landscapes of her life—the neutrals of growing up in San Francisco, the brightness of living in the South, and all her travels in between. Creating her paintings is a meditative practice for her, with the hope that her art creates a journey of imagination for the viewer.
