Jean Gray Mohs is a mixed media artist based in Raleigh, NC, working primarily in painting and sculpture to create organic wooden forms that explore the tension between play, risk, and disruption through contrasting materials such as wood, waxed thread, and steel. Her work examines the balance between the internal and external, visible and hidden, celebrating imperfection and the strength found in vulnerability. Mohs holds a BFA and MAT from Georgia Southern University and has exhibited widely in solo, group, museum, and university exhibitions, with features in major publications, podcasts, and support from numerous arts organizations and residencies.
