Charlotte artist Janine Medlin finds inspiration in every day life, as well as from places she’s been. She sees color and texture in the details of a single element of nature or the atmosphere found in a strand of trees or a walk on the beach. It is a combination of the way light hits a scene or an object, and the feeling it evokes. She creates movement with heavy brush and palette knife strokes, complimented with the play of colors, light, and shadow.
