Jalen Jackson is a visual artist whose paintings explore African American culture, memory, and lived experience, often drawing from his childhood growing up in Durham, North Carolina as the son of a single mother. After beginning his studies in Business Management at North Carolina A&T State University, he rediscovered his passion for art and earned a BFA in Visual Arts in 2021. His work has been exhibited throughout North Carolina, including the North Carolina Museum of Art, and he was named the inaugural HBCU Artist in Residence at Artspace in downtown Raleigh.
